Addison was already in the kitchen of her apartment preparing to make breakfast for everyone when Emma opened the door and peaked in. She smiled when she saw Addison.
“I used the key you give me…” Emma held it up. “I didn’t know if you might still be asleep.”
“I woke up before my clock today. What do you think about making omelets?”
Emma nodded. “You’ll have to teach me…”
Addison explained the process and Emma began dicing onions and bell peppers. Addison sautéed them as she got them ready.
“How was the drive to the park yesterday?” Addison asked.
Emma talked about the day, saying it was fun. She gave examples of what they did.
As she listened, Addison picked up on a vibe that things between Emma and Devon had more or less plateaued somewhere past being friends but far from being deeply romantic. It was just a feeling. They seemed… content. But as far as Addison was concerned, content wasn’t anything special.
