Well here I am near about the end of the weekend. Hannah an’ Shay from this timeline are still shifted back to 1880.
Now, I wanna tell a little ‘bout some things.
First off, Jacob made a chart he calls “Normal Placements” and I said “How can being 124 years in the future be normal. Devon an’ him thought that was funny. Anyway, I’ll put a copy o’ the chart at the bottom of this post.
Well, the Hannah born in 1962 is here, and Will is a little worked up ‘cause Merritt an’ her didn’t have computers. He tol’ them to take off Monday and do some training on the Internet.
They was talkin’ ‘bout that when Kent come up to visit. “I went to juco for two years before I opened my business, and I took a CAD class. It gets deep fast, but you two are smart.”
“Devon did, too,” Merritt said. “He’s gonna take off the day, too, and help us get going. Will said it was a good idea.”
Well, then Kent and me decided to go get pizza an’ bring ti back to everybody. I learned it’s called “carry out.” Well, going back to the 'partments, me an’ him got to talking about all the shifting.
“Looks like the Hannah from 1962 is filling in nicely for the Hannah from 2002,” he said.
“You mean cuddling and all that?”
He nodded. “I honestly can’t tell the difference between that Hannah and the other one.”
I agreed. “It’s like the same girl. Like a sister…”
“Say,” Kent said, “do you think… you know… the different versions… You think we are some kind of duplicates? Like the version of me from 1984… the one born in 1958… what is he like compared to this version of me?”
Then I said, “Well I bet the one of me born in 2005 is a lot smarter than this one!”
Kent shook his head. “Smartness is different from your experiences. I bet she’d be lost in 1880! Like Shay is lost now.”
“Like I was…” I shook my head. “Like I still am.”
We didn’t talk for a minute, then I said, “If they are duplicates, then I guess it’s okay for Merritt to be sweet with the other Hannah.”
Kent laughed. “Hard to say… But… shifting between two versions of the person… makes it crazy!”
