I am… so many things, right now. Last Monday, I went back in time with 7 others. Everyone but me sifted back to 2024 on Thursday. I didn’t shift back until yesterday…
So, from Thursday to Saturday, I was with Emma-1965 and Merritt-2000. Meaning that I was away from the Merritt I am… let’s just say we are dating, now.
But I was with the Merritt that would have been with me here, in this time, had he not time-shifted. And… the other Hannah was with the Merritt she would have been with sans time-shifting.
When I got back, I looked at Instagram. My entry into her journal and her post on my profile were there, waiting. She never got around to telling them that she hadn’t shifted, so for those days, MY Merritt was “dating” another me; he didn’t know; she liked it. And, I wrote that I had feelings for the other Merritt; he was my Merritt, but a little more easy-going.
I talked to MY Merritt about it. He thought it was funny and that it made sense.
“He and I are the same, I guess. Naturally, you’d like him. And I guess I’m up-tight because I feel so out of place in 2024. But…” He shrugged. “The other you shouldn’t have been scared and shouldn’t have felt guilty. Who wouldn’t rather be in 2024 than back in 1880?”
So, then… Shay Ryder called. We had all talked about not getting to move on the way out to Grand Junction on the train. Everything was ready in the apartments, and all we needed to do was move. However, Tom had decided he’d add some dorm-style rooms where he planned for storage, rooms for when the others shift back here again. He even has a floor plan drawn out.
Well, Shay said she knew we were disappointed and wouldn’t, any time soon, have time to make the move. She offered to hire a crew. Some crews… to pack us and move us. Later, yesterday, a small army of movers showed up at my loft and at Merritt and Emma’s apartment. And Shay also put us all up in a hotel for the night.
We are moving in. Today.
Shay said, Given that we got forced to give up a week… I just want to get things back on track, and I have the ability to do that. Plus… we’ll be more ready for the next time-shift.”
