2025-01-19 “Long Weekend” by Hannah (born 2002)

We made it through the third Translocation mission. It is surprisingly—exhausting.

We decided to call the phenomenon as we experience it “being in the event” rather than saying we zoned out for 3 days. We entered the event late Thursday. We exited the event this afternoon, a few hours ago.

It’s really difficult for me to find words to describe it. All of a sudden, we feel super distracted. Literally, half our consciousness is—literally somewhere else.

And there is an influx of feelings. At first, I thought it was just the feelings of the Translocation team, but at one point I was really cold and realized that feeling came from Hannah in 1985 doing wilderness survival training.

The memories that go with the feelings are delayed by sleep cycles, so they come days later. That cold feeling was when Hannah was trying to wash up in a stream while half her brain was in 1965 New Mexico.

Okay… so… the physicists are on board now. Anika and David were all over us writing down times and asking questions.

At one point, I was trying to decide if I was hungry or if it was one of the other Hannahs and they were asking me how I felt and if I had any memories yet. That was pretty much constant.

They took turns sleeping so one of them was hovering the whole time. I get it. Research. And it ensures we get to keep our jobs. Okay… got it.

Last night, though… Emma lost it.

Merritt was trying to open a bag of chips, which is surprisingly hard when half of your brain is in New Mexico.

David asked him if he had any new feelings. Merritt said to wait a second.

David said, “So, something new is happening? What’s going on?

Emma went full-on into wife mode. I’d say for a moment or two, she was 100% in control of her thoughts.

“Hey!” She pointed at David. “Didn’t you hear him! Back OFF! I thought you were a physicist, so STOP acting like a psychologist! BACK… OFF!”

David retreated to Anika saying… “Woo… She’s right! We need a psychologist on the team!”

Okay… Awesome… More researchers.

I’m going to bed.
