2024-10-15 “Life Goes On” by Emma (born 1861)

Well, after last week, this week has been pretty normal, ‘cept for us moving into this new apartment. That’s ‘bout the best thing in a long time.

Me and Hannah are roommates now, as you call it. We got a ‘partment with 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom an’ there’s a nice parlor, kitchen, and a partial bathroom, too.

I have the night show tonight, so I’ll be going to the theater soon. Which means I’ll be walking down the stairs, stepping out my door, an’ going right back in the door b’side it.

Devon said it would be real nice an’ safe, but he said he’d still usually meet me after the show, just out of practice. Devon likes his new job for Will Robertson. Yesterday, he followed Hannah ‘round when she went to meet a client and then when she went back to the office to give the man what that in charge of the project all the numbers they took down.

He’s looking over what that man’s doing today, an’ Hannah and Merritt are out on another jobsite.

Now, comin’ up Thursday, when I don’t have a show, me, Merritt, Devon, and Hannah are all going to see that bank lady about setting up an account for our old age years. You pro’lly know about retirement accounts already. Hannah said moving in with me cut her rent more than in half, so she’s gonna put all that back into her new account.

Jacob is real good with computers an’ such. He made what’s called a group on Snapchat with all eight of us in it, so—you pro’lly know this too—any one of us can send a message an’ ever’body can read it.

This morning, Shay sent a real sweet message just to say hello and to say she hoped we all had a good day. Addison replied real quick to answer back, and said some realy sweet things, too.

I’ll end by saying we ain’t heard nothing about shifting time again. We figure Will and Tom will get messages ahead o’ time like before, an’ they haven’t got anything yet. So, for now, we’re going to work and doing our volunteer things.

Thanks for reading my story today. I ‘preciate all your comments and support.
