I’m home from work, in my ‘partment wrapped up in my sheet so I can tell about my night before I go to bed. I had so much fun.
I s’pose you know I got hired to be an actor at a place they call the American Heritage Interactive Theater. I’m acting like I’m a sharecropper girl from 1975, but nobody knows I ain’t really acting. I’m jus’ telling what this or that is an’ what it's for an’ how to use it. If my granny knew how much money I was gettin’ paid she’d get up outta her gave and sing a song!
If you didn’t get to see my story about getting the job, you can go to the blogger page Merritt made and see everything we’ve done since shifting time. I’m s’posed to say the link is in my bio.
I also wanna say that I’m so surprised at how many o’ you are watching for my stories. I’m supposed to say “followers” but that don’t seem like the right word ‘cause I ain’t going nowhere. But a word I’m sure about is “grateful.” I can’t thank you enough.
I guess you saw what Merrit wrote today. Speakin’ of what a word means, we’re both trying to d’cide if we’re talking-talking, ‘cause we don’t ‘xactly understand it, and both been too busy to ask our iPhone to help us.
I still ain’t… haven’t got…
I gotta stop and say something else. Hard as I am trying to talk like 2024, I’m getting paid not to! Now, isn’t that something!
Anyway, going back to having Hannah over for dinner and how my brain got all jumbled up, I still don’t know. I s’pose I need to sit and think about it. When I really was a sharecropper girl, I’d have a lot of time to think picking cotton or churning milk, when we could get some. I’d just imagine things, though. If I had to churn milk now, I’d sit and think about why my brain is trying to have its own way about Merritt. An’ maybe I oughta listen to it.
Well, I should end by saying I really like my job, and we had opening night tonight and everybody said it was great. It ain’t ‘xcatly a show. Folk just wander around and we act like we’re just working the farm.
Tom and Addison said it went great, so I guess it did.
Thanks for reading. I’ll have more to say tomorrow.
