MATINEE MORNING—If my granny saw these pants… Holes in your britches sure wudn’t fashionable back in 1880. Granny’d hop outta her grave and run outta thread sewing up holes!

I s’pose you can see I made pancakes for Devon an’ Merritt. An’ you can see I made too many, ‘cause I got distracted and put in too much flour, so I just added ingredients to get the batter right.

I come over same as regular, and opened the door. The chain was off, but Devon was sitting on the couch waiting on the shower wearing just his boxers. He didn’t care, though, so I hurried to the kitchen after a nice hello.

He was real sweet saying I looked nice, an’ that’s what got me thinking about pants with holes in ‘em.

Well, you oughta hear ‘bout what Tom tol’ us. He made a email an’ sent it to us, so I’ll copy it.

The Pay It Forward Society is a privately owned organization that qualifies for many of the privacy rights of a church. It’is a sub-organization of another organization called The Random Acts Institution.

I asked ‘bout that, an’ Devon tol’ me and Merritt ‘bout somethin’ called Random Acts of Kindness. While I’m on Devon, Merritt an’ me asked him if he knew anything ‘bout Pay It Forward an’ the money, and that brought up a lot of talk, so we went on an’ tol’ him all that we tol’ Tom yesterday

Tom went on to say that there was other companies all twined together with them first two. He’d unravaled it all to identify two more: Aux Autres (that’s French for Unto Others) an’ Back To Basics Partnership. There’s more, he thinks, but he can’t get names of. They’re all private.

Merritt summed it all up. “Now we have names for something we know nothing about.”

That’s about it on that.

Merritt’s got to go way off to Long Island today, an’ I work Matinee. Devon’s doing roof work, so he’ll be done ‘cause o’ the heat ‘bout same time as me. He said he’d come walk me home to play it safe, even though it’s daytime when I get done.

Merritt said that was smart since everything seems tossed up right now.
