2024-07-08 “Took To The Sky” by Emma
Look! We done took to the sky an’ I ain’t even crying. An’ truth told, I don’t feel like crying right now. I’m scared though.
We’re off to Miami, Florida where we gonna help some poor folks who has bad houses. I ain’t gonna say so, but I figure if they’d been such a program back where I was, they’d a’ been fixing up my house. But that’s just me thinking sorry for my past.
Things are different for me, now that I jumped ahead to 2024.
Jenn says I should mention that over 100 people are reading my stories and looking at my pictures on Instagram. She says most folk make a lot out of getting 100 people interested in them. I ain’t sure I even knew 100 people by name, so I guess she’s right.
Jenn also says I gotta get some new clothes for Miami. She says we’ll have some time to play in the sand and the water, and I will want to have somethin’ besides shorts and t-shirts. I got tank tops, too, but she said I’d want a swimming outfit.
Merritt @merritt_gray says when he got shifted up to 2024 from 1984, what little money he had saved up got shifted, too, and multiplied by a lot. He said not to worry about outfits, on account he can pay for them with a little card made of something called plastic. I seen a lot of things made of plastic, but I was afraid to ask what it was ‘til just last night.
I heard Merritt and his daddy talking about money, and his daddy said, “Son, why are you all of the sudden worried about having cash? Just use your debit card. If you lose cash, it’s all gone. If you lose your debit card, just call the bank and report it lost.”
I could tell Merritt was playing along like he understood, but I could tell he was confused. I wanted to go hold him an’ tell him I understood, but I reckon that would have just made matters more confusing for his daddy.
I wanna say making this story for Instagram has helped me get my mind off the fact that there ain’t nothing between me and the ground but this seat, the floor, and miles of sky!
I hope you liked hearing it. Tell me if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking at my pictures, too.
